The BMW STEP Apprentice Program is a six month program designed to combine a BMW-specific, hands-on technical education and real world work experience as a BMW technician. The apprentice application process is open to graduates of post-secondary school automotive programs (trade school or college) who wish to further their education and start a rewarding career as a BMW technician.
The BMW STEP Apprentice program was established as a collaborative effort between BMW of North America, LLC and BMW Retail Centers in order to address the shortage of talented technicians and the growing demand for BMW products in the United States.
BMW STEP Apprentice Program Qualifications include:
- Valid Driver’s License acceptable to BMW standards
- Completed a Post-Secondary Automotive Program
- Have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA at a Post-Secondary Automotive School
- 95% Attendance or better at a Post-Secondary Automotive School
- Be willing and able to accept a position at a BMW Dealership
- Drug screening
- Background check
How the Program Works.
Each student will be screened and hired by a BMW dealership prior to attending class. Students will rotate between class and their dealership every two weeks until graduation.
